Limited Edition Museum Size Cibachromes

Since 2001 I’ve made Cibachromes in an extra large format that we call Museum Size. Museum Size Cibachromes are available in the following sizes: 8×10″ format as 40×50″; panoramic to 25×64″ and medium format work as 40×40″.

I believe that these large Cibachromes are the finest examples of my art and craft and represent the ultimate expression of my photographic work. Unfortunately, they are extremely difficult, time consuming and expensive to produce. Aside from the difficulties in making these Cibas by hand in my darkroom, they are all pressure mounted, double matted, and shipped by special freight carrier to the customer’s framer. We are no longer able to make 8 ply mats in this size. We have a few 8-ply mats in stock but when they are gone these Cibachromes will come with two 4-ply mats.

Due to these factors, I have decided to limit these Cibas to editions of no more than 15. Since I am working with a limited quantity of irreplaceable Cibachrome paper, many images will have edition quantities less than 15, sometimes much less.

In an edition of 15 only 14 are available for sale, since we archive the #1 Cibas. The pricing of Museum Size Cibachromes is based upon the particular price tier of an image. After the first six Cibas are sold (Cibachromes 2 to 7) the price increases. The second six (Cibachromes 8 to 13) are priced one tier higher, Cibachrome 14 is one more tier higher and the final Cibachromes 15 is more one tier higher.

The pricing of Museum Size Cibachromes is based upon the particular price tier of an image. (Please note there is no introductory price for museum size Cibachromes.)

For example:

• Vivid Red Maple, which currently sells for $3,000 as a 30×40″ Cibachrome (1^st tier), would be $7,000 as a 40×50″ Cibachrome.
• Green Veratrum, which currently sells for $6,000 as a 30×40″ Cibachrome (3^rd tier), would be $13,000 as a 40x50″ Cibachrome.
